Benefits of Joining

Network with other writers, enhance your writing skills, promote your writing,
gain access to publishing opportunities, participate in programs that showcase your writing.

Become a member of the Writers of the Mendocino Coast, a branch of the California Writers Club. 

Membership Fees

Join July 1 - Dec 31    $45.00 per year*
Join Jan 1 - June 30    $22.50 per year*


*NEW members also pay a one-time $20.00 enrollment fee.

We'll provide email and newsletter reminders of your membership due dates
     If you have a dual membership in another CWC branch, the annual renewal fee is $25, sent to that branch.
Student memberships are $20 each year.

     In addition to newsletters, the website has the latest information on upcoming events, member biographies, the annual anthology, the yearly collaboration with the Artist's Co-op of Mendocino, the Ekphrasis Project, SmatchUp,  and other resources for writers, like classes on the coast.

Benefits of membership:

  • A copy of the year's anthology.

  • Copies of the state's newsletter, the Bulletin, emailed to you and available on the this website.

  • Networking and fellowship with other writers

  • Interesting speakers and workshops

  • Opportunity to list a short biographical sketch and sample of your writing up to eight pages on the website. Send it to WritersMendocinoCoast@Gmail.com. If you'd like to have them included, please send your website address and attach a photo.

Consideration to:

  • Become published in the branch's annual anthology

    • The 2025 anthology theme is Resilience       

    • Limited number of entries chosen by jury of reviewers

  • Become published in the Literary Anthology, as presented by the California Writers Club's state organization

    • Limited number of entries chosen by jury of reviewers

  • Participate in the branch's artists/writers collaboration and show in October, 

    • Ekphrasis, "art describing art."

    • Limited number chosen by jury

  • Write the beginning page or the ending page for the branch's SmatchUp; all members invited.


     We'd also like to list member's publishing credits on the website. If you've published your work, would you please give us a few details: title, publisher, date published, and an online link, if there is one. We're especially interested in suggestions for future events.
