FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC JOSH WEIL "The Long Short" The award winning, and widely published author talks about writing Thursday, September 20th, 6:00 p.m. About the author What’s the difference between a novella and a short story? How does a story change as you give it more room to breathe or choose to constrain it? What do you gain through compression, what do you lose? In this discussion, we’ll talk about what kinds of stories work best as short stories, how to listen to the story telling you what length it needs to be—and why my stories tend to demand the awkward form of the long short. Josh will be reading at Gallery Bookshop on Friday, September 21, at 6:30 pm. MENDOCINO HOTEL
