February 18th Membership Meeting will be held in the Activities Room and feature Emily Lloyd-Jones.
Plotting YA and Middle Grade Books Emily Lloyd-Jones will cover the basics of how to use emotional beats to plot a young adult or middle grade book. From the opening chapter to the climatic ending, a character's emotional journey is one of the most important aspects of writing. By outlining this beforehand, an author can more effectively create a gripping and compelling story. Emily Lloyd-Jones is the author of the Sunday Times bestseller The Drowned Woods, the Indie bestseller The Bone Houses, and several other young adult books. Her middle grade novels include Unseen Magic and Unspoken Magic. She is the winner of the 2023 Tir na n-Og English language award. She lives in Northern California, where she enjoys wandering in redwood forests. You can connect with her at emilylloydjones.com. |

WHY WE HAVE A DONATION JAR
