ANNUAL CWC MEMBERS PICNIC
LIT CAKE RETURNS TO JOAQUIN MILLER PARK, OAKLAND Donna McCrohan Rosenthal, PR Director CWC Not only will we hold our annual CWC members’ picnic on Saturday afternoon, July 19, 1:00-4:00 in Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland, and not only will we serve barbecue and potluck, and not only will we have another Open Mic – but we will once more welcome competitors to our always fun and, frankly, amazing Lit Cake event. Last year’s entries ran the gamut from Greg Sarris’ Watermelon Nights and Joanne Fluke’s Cupcake Murders to a cake that talked. The simple rules invite you to “decorate a dessert with a literary theme” and you don’t even have to bake it yourself. We display each and every fantastic creation. We award prizes, too. Batter puns notwithstanding, you can hardly beat these ingredients that add up to a great Saturday in the park. We hope to see you there. Check www.calwriters.org for more details. |
