LITERARY ART INSTALLATION AND OPEN MIC
Picture
  1. WRITE. Follow wherever the words, "I am" take you: flash fiction, memoir, poetry, essay, manifesto, or just plain statement. As long as it's less than two hundred words.  Bring your words on the substrate of your choice: napkins, different kinds of paper, handwritten, typed, scrawled—to be as visually varied as the content. Another option is to use one of the frames below to make your words into one of the pieces in this literary art installation that will be hung on the wall at the Odd Fellows Hall.
  2. BRING YOUR WORK—the real deal and a copy—to the Odd Fellows Hall at 45101 Ukiah Street, Mendocino on Saturday, January 14th between 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Photographer Mimi Carroll will be there to take your portrait. If you are not able to bring your work to the Odd Fellows Hall, please email your words to WritersMendocinoCoast.org and they will become part of the installation.
  3. WATCH as your writing with your photo becomes part of the "I am" wall—a literary art installation by Flockworks, created in real time.
  4. SIGN UP to read your work at that evening's Open Mic. (That's what the second copy is for!) Slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Reading is optional.
  5. ENJOY the rest of the exhibit at Odd Fellows and at other 2nd Saturday venues until Open Mic begins at 6 p.m.
The "I am" wall will remain on display as part of the Masks & Mirrors exhibit until Sunday, January 29th.
This is your chance to take part in a fun, multidisciplinary artistic event that
celebrates the diverse identities that make up our community.
